It's been awhile

It has been way too long since the last post. Lil's first birthday was earlier this week. She is officially 1! I was an emotional wreck most of the day. I mean, it feels like we should be picking out her prom dress or something! She is barely walking by herself...taking 2-3 steps here and there, crawling everywhere and cruising on all furniture. She has a huge vocab for her age...I mean, the this baby girl talks ALL the time! She is soooooo funny and so outspoken! I call her Miss Sassafrass sometimes....She is super independent and wants to do everything herself! Not sure where she got that from?? ha ha....

Now that baseball season is over, I am excited to spend some more time with my family...I look forward to the next few months...

I know this is short, but baby girl is not known for long naps and I have some things to get done before she wakes up :-) Take care everyone and please enjoy a few of her 1 year pictures (just made today). FYI...her 1 year pictures were made in the same dress that my 1 year pictures were made (and my sister and my cousin too!). More to come after we share our favorites with the family first :-)

Much love,
Mindy, Lee & Lillian

Hello Everyone!

Well, I seem to be averaging at least one post per month...considering our schedule(s), that's pretty darn good!

Lil is 9 months old already! She is sooooo amazing. Each day, we/she discovers something new she can do/say. Truly amazing. She is pulling up on just about everything she can get her hands on...still not officially crawling, but since day one, I have said she is going to skip that faze (she hates to be on her tummy...). Even though she may not crawl, she will find a way to get where she wants to go. She is a very determined little girl.

Lil says "mamamama", "dadadadadadada", "bababababa" and the occasional "didddddy" (when she sees the kitties). We have realized that she is already playing us like fiddles...when she was mad at Lee a few weeks ago, she poked her lip out and screamed "mamamamamamamamama" and has since done the same with me, but out came "dadadadadadada". Wow...so young and already playing us! I know, it only gets worse...man, am I going to have a feisty next 18+ years!! tee hee.

As we found out just tonight, she LOVES spaghetti! In addition to drinking water from mommy or daddy's glass, I think that's her new favorite thing? Although, topping a pretzel rod, froot loops or a vanilla cookie may be difficult...

As for Lee and I, well, I think that we have adjusted as best we can to parenthood. We have the support of family and friends...without which, well...no need to go there. We enjoy things differently as parents, such as SLEEP...what a great day it is when one of us gets up with the baby and let's the other one sleep in for an extra 15-30 minutes!! We do love our date nights too...we have to plan and save our pennies (they just cost a bit more now...you know, babysitters these days are not cheap!) Other than that...we are simply enjoying our family and the valuable time we have together.

Lillian....what a blessing.

Best to all!

Finally, an update!

It's been a very, very, very long time since I last posted...what can I say, baseball season has begun and I barley have time to anything other than spend the little time I have with my family!

We have had a lot going on with Lil...she is almost 8 months old, just about crawling, loves to stand, 4 teeth have cut, only 2 in (getting a few more as we speak), loves to babble (ba ba and da da are her favorites), she loves to eat her "big girl" food (cereal, veggies, fruits & meat), she is super social and loves going to daycare! Whhheeww! Did I just about cover everything?

We had her 6mth pictures done...please enjoy the slide show~ as well as her Easter dress...I am in the process of posting the actual pictures from Easter.

Gotta run...the team is travelling and the baby is asleep. I think I am going to take advantage of this moment and try to hit the hey early! Good night!

We are heading into Lil's 5th month...next Saturday to be exact. Where does the time go? At the same time, baseball season is getting ready to kick back in again. Honestly, I wish I could have the video recorder strapped to her back for the next 6 months so that I do not have to miss all of her "FIRSTS"...It makes me very sad to know that I am going to miss them, but as my amazing hubby says..."when you see her steps or hear her words for the first time, it will be a first for you and her..."

Enjoy a few pics of a few FIRSTS I was able to be here for...

Have a great evening!

Well....my 2 sick babies are on the up and up. Lee is recovering well from his surgery and the pneumonia. Lil is just about over her first cold...I am also just about over the cold I have had for the past few weeks. Come on Spring!!!!

It's so amazing to me to watch our daughter grow and develop....the control she has over her hands is truly amazing. When you put her on her tummy she can roll over (only if she wants to), stick her little hiney up in the air and wiggle her legs. She has been pushing herself up (again, when she wants to) since about Christmas. Lord knows, we are NOT ready for her to figure out how the 2 work together!!!! NOT ready for a mobile baby just yet!

Something else we are not ready for, but it's coming anyway are Lil's teeth!!! She has her 2 bottom and 2 top teeth getting ready to come in...probably in about 4-6 weeks if I had to guess. She forever has her hands in her mouth, has all the signs of teething and the woes that go with that!!..Poor baby!

Mom was up for Valentine's weekend. We had a ball....Lil had the biggest time of them all playing with her Nana. We wore her cute little Valentine's dress on Saturday...boy oh boy, did we get stopped by just about everyone that we passed! EVERYONE was commenting on our beautiful little baby...yes, I am an obnoxious parent, I know :-) But they were...and Lil LOVED the attention!! Smiling just about the whole day!!!

I think that's enough bragging on our little angel for the day! Have to head off to work a little early today...gotta run!

Man, can we say hats off to all mom's?? I had no idea I could be so tired and have any ounce of energy to keep going...I feel like a walking zombie! So, to all of you mom's who have been there, done that...PROPS my SISTERS!! :-)

I have 2 sick babies...one recovering from surgery and the other with her first cold...

Yesterday, Lee had surgery to repair a hernia. The doc said it was very large, which translates to he was very lucky he went in when he did. Thank the Lord! He has to take pain meds every 4 hours to help as his body heals...Please say a prayer for a speedy, healthy recovery. He is in a lot of pain, even with the meds.

Grandma kept Lil for the whole day while we were at the hospital...Lil LOVES hanging with her Grandma, Grandpa and many uncles (and Aunt ) :-) I have said this in past posts, and will say it again...We are so grateful to have Lee's family so close. We are so blessed to have Lilly in the care of such loving Grandparents!!

Speaking of Lil...she is suffering from her first cold. She has a low grade fever, is so congested and has a ton of snot coming out of her little nose. At this point, she just lays there with a disgusted look on her face when I have the snot sucker in my hand. I gave her a steam treatment this morning, hoping it would help, but not too much...Hopefully, the Dr. will have some room this morning! I do not want this mess to settle in her chest! She is resting now...hopefully, her fever will subside as it did in the middle of the night.

Will end on a positive note...we started feeding Lil rice cereal last week and began apple sauce this week. I picked up all of the stage 1 fruits :-) She loves them!! Well, at least she loves it when she can keep it in her mouth! It's so fun to feed her!! Lee had the video and camera out for the first feeding...it was pretty funny.

Going to try to get Lil to the doctor! Well wishes to all!

Just a quick post...cannot believe how much, how fast Lil has grown! She is super long and is just fits into 6 month clothing (lengthwise only). It's crazy!

As for Lee and I...pretty much status quo. I have been back to work for a little over a month now and love it! Lee is still at The Home Depot doing very well. We hope that 2009 will be as good to us as 2008 was...We are truly blessed.

Our best to everyone! Happy 2009!
